Quizzically quoz-y: Today I ate what was probably the best strawberry I've ever tasted. The strawberry went through that long, complex process of growing and I gobbled it up in less than five seconds. If natural disasters had feelings (they could!) I wonder if they'd ever feel bad for the people/animals they gobbled up or if they'd just consume them without a second thought- like strawberries.
Also: Someday, I will be standing under this specific patch of sky when this is happening.

This blog entry might be false.
The l i a r p a r a d o x says:
"This sentence is false."
(Haha! That's funny. Wait, is it true or is it false? What IS true? What IS false? OMG I'm dizzy.)
"This sentence is false."
The ''is false'' part of the sentence is actually in a different language, so to speak, because a language can not validate its own truthfulness just like I can not lick my own elbow and neither can you. A language can not have words like "true" and "false" that are defined by itself. For this paradox to be resolved there must be a language B outside of the first language A to verify if A is true. Outside of B there must be a language C to validate B. And blah blah.
It looks like this:
Ad infinitum
Meta-meta-meta-meta-meta-meta-meta-meta-metalanguage
Meta-meta-meta-meta-meta-meta-metalanguage
Meta-meta-meta-meta-meta-metalanguage
Meta-meta-meta-meta-metalanguage
Meta-meta-meta-metalanguage
Meta-meta-metalanguage
Meta-metalanguage
Metalanguage
Language
My questions are:
Why is the resolution to this paradox represented vertically? Is it a hierarchical system? Is each metalanguage "better" than the one below it? A professor told me 'yes'.
Okay, so if it is a hierarchy then there must be a top, right? It would have to stop somewhere. Professor told me 'no'.Can it be thought of horizontally? It makes sense to me that all the languages could be on the same plane, each validating the one next to it- like a circle.
Thinking of this in terms of vertical and horizontal might be kind of restrictive. I might just have flawed logik. This is where my thinking stops for tonight. I'm sleepy.

Vital
I have been absorbed by Lewis Carroll's mystical creations Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, the latter especially so. Nonsensical fiction just makes so much sense! Carroll weaved his imaginative, absurd stories with sparkling threads of wisdom that bring as much wonder as the characters and events. (So it's not really so nonsensical after all!) This book makes me laugh out loud in the most purely joyous way. At the same time, though, it inspires deep thought. How closely related are imagination and intellectual thought?
One of my new favorite artists, Emil Alzamora, said, "Limitation and potential are as human as the flesh but hardly as tangible." Isn't that great? Something (imagination) can transcend the rigid lines and movements of our bodies. Creativity is necessary for progression, that's easy to understand. What's easy to forget is creativity is just as necessary for surviving here and now. Children invent games and stories to escape dull reality. Artistic outlets such as painting or dancing are used as coping strategies for people suffering from PTSD. Slaves' songs of freedom and rest rang out over cotton plantations. The woman living under twenty-one years of terrifying subordination to her husband created a utopia in her head, the only place where she could hide.
Imagination begets creativity begets adaptability begets survivability. I am always searching for tangible proof of truth (and nothing BUT the truth) and I will still say:
Sometimes your head belongs in a cloud.

Q:
Quoz defined by William Least Heat-Moon:
Quoz defined by UrbanDictionary.com:
Where does she even get this crap?
"a noun, both singular and plural, referring to anything strange, incongruous, or peculiar; at its heart is the unknown, the mysterious"
Quoz defined by UrbanDictionary.com:
"slang for quality, a cockney term for something good. usually accompanied with a hand action of slaping ur index finger against the stationary thumb and middle finger.
thats quoz man! propa quoz. *finger slappy hand thingy* "So here is my little project, Quozimodo. It is my attempt to observe, ruminate and document whatever I see fit as propa quoz, which also according Heat-Moon, "when seen clearly to the depths of its existence", everything is.
Where does she even get this crap?
