I just found out the largest organism in the world (largest by volume) is an Aspen tree nicknamed Pando or The Trembling Giant. It's also one of the oldest living organisms- 80,000 years old. And it's in UTAH. I've lived here for two years- how did I not know this?
It looks like a forest but they all connect to one root system. So really, all the "trees" are branches. They all have the exact same genetic makeup. I'm fascinated! (And I'm going to Fish Lake, where Pando lives, in a couple of weeks.)
Something else I find curiously strange is the feeling you sometimes get in your chest where it's hollow and it echoes and it's raw and it's throbbing.
If it's hollow, it's empty. But if it's throbbing, it's alive.
So what does this feeling mean?

I've been loving this artist the last few weeks. It's a beautiful music video, too.

I picked up a copy of it at a thrift store when I recognized the title from a 'Top 50 Fiction Books' list put out by a reputable source. I'm about 80 pages in and so far I find it to be lukewarm though it is a good insight to Nigerian culture.
You know how you hang out with certain people and you ask yourself why? Then you go a few months without seeing these people and think how awesome they are and set up a get-together and it happens all over again. That's how I feel about fiction.
